La magica alba che illumina questa imponente montagna , Il Monte Rainier!
Si tratta di uno stratovulcano dormiente situato nello Stato di Washington vicino a  Seattle. Fa parte, come molti altri vulcani negli USA, della Catena delle Cascate ed è anche il monte più alto della catena stessa( 4392 m.). A causa delle sue notevoli dimensioni rispetto al paesaggio circostante ed il modo con cui domina il panorama, gli abitanti delle città vicine (come Seattle e Tacoma) si riferiscono al vulcano usando semplicemente "the Mountain" (la Montagna) Geologicamente, si tratta di un vulcano abbastanza antico. L'ultima attività è stata però registrata nel 1894. Per il momento non vi è un rischio imminente di eruzione ma gli scienziati si aspettano che  erutterà di nuovo. (Wikipedia)
