The more you travel through this short and wonderous life you realise just how much talent is out there. You then start to remember why you’re in this industry. It’s filled with raw and amazing creatives, people whose ideas, concepts and philosophy’s on life teach us about ourselves and our place in the world around us. People who aren’t afraid to do what they love for themselves, regardless of who’s watching or approving.

The more I learn and see - the more I know I don’t know and haven’t seen.

I am happy to have a site that can showcase and provide a voice to some of the more unknown and untapped talent out there. It’s quite often the humble, most modest of artists that fall under the radar and the general public never get to see or understand.

If I can share just a small amount of those artists then I’m a happy girl.

Today, I came across Moscow based designer Alex Steshak who has developed a brand called ‘Homeless Brothers’ with the concept of customizing old-fashioned ‘stuff’. He mostly uses leather, metal parts, vintage materials or artificially aged clothes. He creates products in a single copy and never repeats them.

I’m a huge fan already and will be following him closely to see what comes next….

А вот это совсем неожиданно Even the most highly expressive fashion must answer to functional needs. These boots do it all. Structure, fit, use, aesthetic and method of manufature. Here the aesthetic design move by Steshak can be seen as an opportunity to enhance purpose. A dramatic symmetrical and material design move has become an opportunity to introduce novel elements and hardware fastening. The asymmetrical nature of these shoes contravenes the otherwise strict purpose of symmetry shoes propose as a necessity to its existence. Alex's design gesture turns out to be something much more than what is formally known as a pair of 'shoes' instead he gives it a new reason for its existence. Utility for the artistic mind where it is least expected.
