Royalty shampoo for princess hair

2012-06-24 19:39:00 (читать в оригинале)

About a month ago saw in the Internet for the first time an edition of the Russian program "Habitat: the shampoo on your head." Given my love for my hair, I lit up with a great interest in everything that had been said in the program.
First of all, it was a talk about the shampoo, their composition, their influence on the hair and scalp. A lot of talk  fanned on this topic on the Internet. Someone does not believe all this and thinks it’s all just an empty talk. Someone once worried about what hygiene cosmetics  he enjoys and how it can affect on the body. Since I'm in the last  group of people I seriously began to study the articles and books devoted to this subject. After selecting all the most important I joined it in one article. I hope that my work will be interesting and you can take something useful from it.
Basically, many people choose a shampoo on the basis of "good foam /bad foam." Many people think that  as  the better foaming shampoo so the better it cleans hair. Just pay attention to the price - much better to save money and buy a cheap bottle of "Shauma" than to spend money on expensive bottles of shampoo. And, of course, many bright touches ads from the manufacturer - it promises that the hair will become stronger, silky, volume, etc.  Not many people know that behind all this advertising.

Most shampoos contain so-called surfactant - surface active substances. It is thanks to them as well foaming shampoo. However, many surfactants are very aggressive and have a negative effect on the hair and scalp. The most aggressive following surfactants:
  • Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate
  • Ammonium Laureth Sulfate
  • Sodium Lauryl Sulfate
  • Sodium Laureth Sulfate
This is the most dangerous of the 884 ingredients for skin care and hair care. But they are the cheapest , they are even used to degrease car engines, washing floors in garages, cleaning tanks. The most frequently used in shampoos are sodium lauryl sulfate and sodium laureth sulfate. And now a little chemistry, and in more detail about these substances.
Sodium Lauryl Sulfate - SLS - a low-cost detergent derived from coconut oil. Widely used in cosmetic cleaners, shampoos, toothpastes, gels, bath and shower, foam bath, etc.. Perhaps this is the most dangerous ingredient in preparations for hair care and skin. SLS used for washing floors in garages, in the degreaser engine, means for washing machines, etc. It is highly corrosive agent and does remove oil from surface. SLS is widely used in all clinical trials for the world as a tester of skin irritation. Researchers using the SLS cause skin irritation in animals and humans, and then treated with different drugs irritated areas. Recent research at the Medical College of Georgia State University have shown that SLS penetrates eyes, as well as in brain, heart, liver, etc., and lingers there. This is especially dangerous for children, in tissues where it accumulates in high concentrations. These studies also show that the SLS changes the protein composition of cells of the eyes of children and retards the normal development of these children, causing cataracts. SLS cleans by oxidation, leaving an irritating film on the skin of the body and hair. Can contribute to hair loss, dandruff, acting on the bulb of hairs. The hair dries, becomes brittle and whipped on the ends. Another serious problem - the connection with carcinogenic dioxins SLS and nitrates. SLS reacts with many ingredients in cosmetics to form nitrates. These nitrates are released into the bloodstream in large numbers during using  cosmetics.
Sodium Laureth Sulfate - SLES - an ingredient similar to the properties of SLS (added ether chain). 1 ingredient cleaners and shampoos. It is very cheap and thickens while adding salt. Generates a lot of foam and gives the illusion that it is thick, concentrated and expensive. This is a fairly mild detergent. Used as a wetting agent in the textile industry. SLES reacts with other ingredients to form other than nitrates and dioxins.
 Note: The natural SLES in microdoses contained in egg yolk and rye bread (hence their soapiness). Many companies often disguise their products with SLS for natural pointing "is derived from coconuts."

Thanks, Wiki~
As a rule, the ordinary shampoos are these surfactants, as they are cheap and effective in terms of purification. And in order to mitigate the impact of aggressive in the shampoo for the hair adds a mild detergent:
  • Cocamidopropyl Betaine (a mild cleaner, used in baby shampoos)
  • Decyl polyglucose (foaming active substance is extracted from coconut and corn)
  • Cocamidopropyl beta (made from fatty acids of coconut oil and the substance contained in the beet)
  • Glycereth Cocoate (very mild moisturizing the surface active agent)
  • Kokoamfodiatsetat sodium (mild emulsifier)
  • Okamidopropil sulfobetaine
  • sodium sulfosuccinate
Many sources indicated that the active detergent in the shampoo can be arranged in the following order (Then higher will be the most harmful components of the shampoo (cause dryness and irritation), and the least harmful are located below the list):

  • Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate
  • Ammonium Laureth Sulfate
  • Sodium Lauryl Sulfate
  • Sodium Laureth Sulfate
  • TEA Layril Sulfate
  • ТЕА Laureth Sulfate
In the medical shampoos, the following chemicals:
  • ketoconazole
  • klimbazol
  • piroktonolamin
  • salts of zinc and selenium
  • sulfur
  • zinc pyrithione
  • salicylic acid
  • pirikton
  • octopirox
  • tar
  • distillates of shale oil
  • resin
  • piroktonalamin
  • undetsilenamidopropil trimoniummetosulfat
It should be noted that cheap shampoos of popular "among the people" brands do not cure dandruff - they can only "hide" dandruff on the time to use this shampoo. This treatment shampoo can be bought only in pharmacies and not at the lowest price but it is a complete guarantee that the shampoo is truly therapeutic - there are therapeutic agents.
Also you should avoid these substances in shampoos:
  • Mineral oil (mineral oil, which is a product of oil refining). Often used in cosmetics. Despite the fact that it is oil, this tool is not actually absorbed, "not absorbed" in our skin. It falls on the film surface and prevents the skin to "breathe." As a result, may appear diaper rash, dryness, dandruff and other problems.
  • Formaldehyde and its derivatives, such as bronopol. These substances are used as antibacterial agents.
In bronopol is some notation: bronopol (bronopol) or 2-bromo-2-nitropropane-1 ,3-diol (2-bromo-2-nitropropane-1,3-diol). German researchers found that bronopol is the cause of the accumulation of nitrosamines in cosmetics - the strongest class of mutagens. From this it follows that the use of such cosmetic services women of childbearing age should be avoided, or "sore" may appear in future generations. Manufacturers sometimes shamefully hide this material under such "names":
  1. Bronosol;
  2. Lexgard bronopol;
  3. Onyxide 500;
  4. Midpol 2000;
  5. b-bromo-b-nitrotrimethylene glycol.
  • Substances that release formaldehyde: BRONOPOL, QUATERNIUM 15, IMIDAZOLIDINYL UREA, DIAZOLIDINYL UREA, DMDH HYDANTOIN. This is the third class of hidden carcinogens. They themselves are safe, but in each case either decompose in a bottle or tube, or on your skin and always release during the decomposition of formaldehyde - a powerful chemical that causes cancer
  • Parabens (methylparaben (a food additive code - E218), ethylparaben (E214), propylparaben (E216) and butylparaben) are used in cosmetics as a preservative. The situation with them is the same as with formaldehyde.
In addition, in the shampoo indicates the content of substances in descending order - the smaller the content of the substance in the shampoo, the farther it is from the beginning. If the natural ingredients listed far from the 7th place in the composition - the content in shampoo is negligible.
A few words about the media.
Many advertisements of cosmetics, particularly shampoos and conditioners, use the words such as "professional cosmetics at an affordable price." These words are misleading. Any professional beauty products (whether shampoos, manicures, make-up, etc.) are often unknown to people who are not professionally engaged in  hairstyling, but still very popular among the small circle of artists. In many specialized publications published similar  professional cosmetics, and they are sold in specialty stores as well for a considerable price. You can not get it all in ordinary supermarkets and convenience stores, so be careful - do not enter on advertising. Such a "professional" cosmetics have no different from other cheap shampoos.
 Small-validation experiment
I had found all the shampoos in the house, and compared the compositions. A natural one was only Natura Siberica (I use it). Shampoos by Garnier, Schwarzkopf (the last, by the way, for kids) and the John Frieda's turned-containing surfactants. Just recently my mom bought shampoo "Grandma Agafia" supposedly based on the soap root. As a result, in part, we also have a surfactant - can not believe the labels without checking the shampoo (of course, is specified in the soap-root, but the basis of the shampoo is not it).
So read carefully compositions before buying shampoo. Many skeptics will prefer to  forget about all of the information, they say "used to this - no one died." Nevertheless, it is better not to communicate with extra chemistry, do you need it?
Thanks for reading. Be beautiful. Care about yourself.
Your Maya.
