Heather recently picked up her new set of Cat-Eye glasses, her little clan in tow! We think this fabulous black-and-marbled white pair surely gives her the coolest-looking mom award... :)
Heather had the opportunity to pick out one of the newer Italian-made glasses styles we just received this fall. A lot of these special hand-picked models go fast-- and right now it's a great time to stop by for your new pair as we have so many awesome designs arriving at the shop this time of year!

As an independent optical shop with a unique vision of our own, we are enthusiastic about making connections & supporting eyewear companies such as this intriguing sunglass line from Australia. To us, the backstory is just as important as the product.
Meet Australian Eyewear designer, Michael Crawley- part of the mastermind duo behind VALLEY EYEWEAR. Together with his wife Tenielle, they design & curate this collection with an idealistic vision of what a really cool, high quality pair of glasses should be.
Michael was frustrated with the sunglass market & its lack of good quality-cutting edge fashion offerings, so he basically drafted up the dream pair himself at a time when both him and his wife were on the search for new career ventures. As a matter of fact, according to Tenielle, his first design was drawn one night freehand on the kitchen counter! Way to cook up a dream pair of sunglasses...!
Here are a few of the newest Ophthalmic designs from the collection that we have in stock:
The aesthetic is a bold & confident, deftly edgy interpretation of classic eyewear lines... Their fashion-forward looks have won the attention of celebrities such as Kat von D, Gwen Stefani, Kanye West, Katie Homes, & Marilyn Manson, as well as collaboration interests with some famed designers such as custom hat designer, Kick Fouquet in LA.

Tracy's edgy-chic metal cat-eye is striking: perfectly balanced with its thin, sweeping silhouette & beautifully layered color. The leopard print is just subtle enough to mimic the favored classic "tortoise" aesthetic in a very contemporary way. (click photo to see closer detail)
This frame is a beautiful accompaniment to her lovely smile!

Moscot founder Hyman Moscot emigrated from Eastern Europe to Ellis Island in 1899 and began selling ready-made eyeglasses from a pushcart on Manhattan’s Lower Eastside. By 1915, he opened up the premiere location of his family-owned retail shop at 94 Rivingtom St. With three retail locations in New York, Moscot is now recognized as a global fashion brand, but remains, at heart, a neighborhood optical shop. All of Moscot's collections maintain a distinct aesthetic of that turn-of-the-century classic NYC style.
Lifelong was formed in 2001 through the merger of Chicken Soup Brigade and Northwest AIDS Foundation. From their beginnings in 1983, Lifelong has remained a leader in the fight against HIV/AIDS and continues to be a champion of healthy lives for all by helping people with chronic illnesses such as HIV/AIDS access heath insurance, housing, food and counseling.
